Apologetics 1: Principles For Answering Questions About Christianity

In this four week seminar, we’ll discuss some general principles for answering questions about the Christian faith.

Why do you need to think about how to answer questions about the Christian faith?

First, as Christians, these questions can bother us. It is important that we know the answer to our doubts and tough questions. God is not afraid of the truth. By asking, researching and answering the questions that arise in your mind, you can only come to grasp his truth more fully.

Second, you need to know how to answer people who raise these questions with you. Being able to answer graciously and gently when you are called upon to do so is an important part of your relationship with one another and non-christians (Colossians 4:5-6;1 Peter 3:15-16). As questions are asked (whether privately or during a break at work), the way you respond will either adorn the gospel and point the person towards Christ, or discredit Christ and reinforce people’s prejudices against Christianity.

It is important to be ready to answer questions well.
