Rooted in Scripture. Centered on Christ.

At Freestone Baptist Church, we believe what we teach and how we live must be shaped by the Word of God. The Bible is our final authority for faith and practice, and we seek to follow Jesus Christ faithfully in every area of life.

We are a Baptist church that holds to the historic Christian faith. We affirm the Baptist Missionary Association doctrinal statement and the New Hampshire Confession of Faith as summaries of biblical teaching that help express our convictions.

These statements do not take the place of Scripture. Rather, they help us explain what we believe the Bible teaches about God, salvation, the church, and the Christian life.

The Foundations of Our Faith

The Bible Is God's Word

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are the final authority for what we believe and how we live. God's Word reveals His truth, points us to salvation in Jesus Christ, and equips us to live faithfully before Him.

God Is Sovereign and Worthy of Our Worship

We believe in one true and living God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created all things and rules over His creation. God is holy, righteous, wise, and gracious. He deserves our trust, obedience, worship, and love.

Jesus Christ Is Our Only Hope

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died on the cross for sinners, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended to the Father. Salvation is found in Him alone.

Salvation Is By God's Grace

We believe every person is a sinner and cannot save himself through good works or religious effort. God saves sinners by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We must turn from sin and trust in Christ, whose finished work is the only ground of our salvation. The Holy Spirit gives new life and works in believers to make them more like Christ.

God's Grace Changes Our Lives

We believe God not only saves His people but also grows them in holiness. By the work of the Holy Spirit and through His Word, believers grow in faith, obedience, love, and perseverance. Our good works do not earn salvation; they are the fruit of God's grace at work in us.

The Church Is Christ's People

We believe a local church is a congregation of believers gathered under the lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of His Word. The church exists to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, care for one another, and bear witness to Christ in the world.

We Practice Believer's Baptism and the Lord's Supper

We believe Christ gave His church two ordinances: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We practice baptism by immersion for those who profess faith in Jesus Christ. In the Lord's Supper, the church remembers and proclaims Christ's death until He comes.

Christ Will Return

We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and bodily. The dead will be raised, God will judge all people in righteousness, and those who belong to Christ will enjoy eternal life with Him. Those who remain in unbelief will face God's just judgment.

Our Baptist Convictions

As Baptists, we believe that:

  • Scripture is our final authority for faith and practice.
  • Each person must personally repent and believe in Jesus Christ.
  • Baptism follows a profession of faith and is administered by immersion.
  • The local church is accountable to Christ under the authority of His Word.
  • The church's mission is to make disciples by proclaiming the gospel and teaching obedience to Christ.

These convictions shape our worship, our discipleship, and our life together as a church family.

Our Confessions of Faith

We invite you to read the statements that further explain our doctrinal convictions.

Baptist Missionary Association Doctrinal Statement

The doctrinal statement of the Baptist Missionary Association of America summarizes its teaching on Scripture, God, creation, sin, salvation, the church, and the last things.

New Hampshire Confession of Faith

This historic Baptist confession summarizes Christian teaching on Scripture, God, humanity's sin, salvation by grace, the church, baptism, the Lord's Supper, and other essential doctrines.
